When ordering a monogram for a couple, the first initial indicates the woman's first name; the middle initial indicates the married last name (last name initial is larger); and the last initial indicates the man's first name. When ordering a monogram for an individual, the first initial indicates the first name; the middle initial indicates the last name (last name initial is larger); and the last initial indicates the middle name.
